Adding Bullets and Numbers to the Lists in MS Word
In Microsoft Office Word application, one can easily create bulleted or numbered lists of several items. Different bulleting and numbering styles are available in Word. The user can select from these available styles.
Adding Bullets
- First of all, one has to type a list
- Now, select the words that have been typed in that list
- Choose the ‘Home’ tab
- In the ‘Paragraph group’, one has to click the down arrow, which is present next to the Bullets button
- The Bullet Library will appear
- One can click to select the type of bullet he wants to use
- Word will add bullets to your list
Note: As the cursor is moved over the various bullet styles, MS Word displays those bullet styles onscreen.
Removing Bullets
- Select the bulleted list
- Choose the ‘Home’ tab
- In the ‘Paragraph’ group, click the down arrow, which is present next to the Bullets icon
- The Bullet dialog box will appear
- Click ‘None’
- Word will remove the bullets from the list
Adding Numbers
- Type a list
- Now, select the words that have been typed in that list
- Choose the ‘Home’ tab
- In the ‘Paragraph group’, one has to click the down arrow, which is present next to the Numbering button
- The Numbering Library will appear
- One can click to select the type of numbering he wants to use
- Word will number the list
Note: As the cursor is moved over the various number styles, MS Word displays those number styles onscreen.
Removing Numbers
- Select the numbered list
- Choose the ‘Home’ tab
- In the ‘Paragraph’ group, click the down arrow, which is present next to the Numbering icon
- The Number dialog box will appear
- Click ‘None’
- Word will remove the numbering from the list
